The MANifesto
Why do we call it The MANifesto?
A manifesto usually accepts a previously published opinion or public consensus or promotes a new idea with prescriptive notions for making changes the author believes should be made. It is often political, social, or artistic in nature, sometimes revolutionary, but may present an individual’s life stance. It is a public declaration of intentions, opinions, objectives, or motives as one issued by a government, sovereign, or organisation. It’s a mission statement or other document written and disseminated by an individual or group to enumerate or expound the guiding principles and beliefs that inform their actions.

I believe that men need to define their own new Manifesto. What does being a man look like in this era? For you. For the collective community of men. At work. At home. In society.
I’ve created my own manifesto for the reasons I want to drive this movement and bring men together.
Mari Lee’s Manifesto
A statement of professional clarity, business acumen, and relentless problem-solving, with a heart of courage, focussed on the men in our society.
-
- Men are not broken women
I understand that men operate differently, with their own unique perspectives, challenges, and strengths. They don’t need to be “fixed” or redefined by standards built around women; they need space to optimise their potential in their own way. - I love working with men
I thrive in environments where I work with men—colleagues, clients, partners. I grew up with only brothers, and am raising only boys and to date, my clients has been 95% male. Each interaction allows me to understand their specific dynamics, and my focus is on making sense of their experiences, helping them navigate both business and personal landscapes. - Human facilitator and sense-maker
At my core, I am a facilitator and sense-maker focused on helping men decode complex situations. My role is to simplify the clutter and offer clarity, enabling them to unlock skills, solve problems, and foster deeper, more meaningful connections. - Creating space for the best version of yourself
I provide a framework where men can pursue excellence without compromise. My aim is to help them reach the highest version of themselves, owning their strengths unapologetically and without external pressures. - Knowing and bringing my value
I understand my value, and I ensure it adds measurable impact to every project, partnership, or conversation. I’m committed to bringing insights and tools that help men recognise and maximise their own value, driving personal and professional success. I want men to feel this same empowering sense of operating from their intrinsic value. - Empowered and vulnerable
I believe true empowerment comes from balancing vulnerability with strength. Men can achieve more when they embrace their full range of emotions—leveraging both to become resilient leaders and effective problem solvers. - Safety in authenticity
There’s power in being authentic. I’ve learned that success comes from operating with integrity, and I offer that same space to the men I work with. They can trust that being their true selves is not only safe but necessary for long-term success. - Changing the societal narrative
The narrative around men must evolve. They are not limited to outdated roles; they can lead with empathy, be collaborators, and excel in their own right. I’m invested in reshaping how men are perceived, both in business and society. - Not a chauvinist, not a feminist—I’m a humanist
I take a balanced view of the world. My philosophy isn’t tied to any ‘-ist’ or label—I’m a humanist. I engage with people as individuals, recognising their unique contributions without bias or judgment. - No burnout, no falling out
I’ve seen to many men, including my father, burn-out. I’ve experienced burn-out myself twice. I am committed to helping men stay in the game without burning out. Whether it’s navigating business challenges or personal growth, I work to ensure men have the resilience and tools to succeed over the long term. - Making sense, always learning
I’ve always been driven by sense-making. My background and experiences have taught me to spot the patterns others miss. Curiosity, mastery and practice, practical tools and learning, sharing stories, doing experiments, measuring results – these are all tools in the sense-making process. Have I figured the societal crisis for men out – hell no! Have I learned a lot about it, yes. Will I keep on collaborating, learning and experimenting to build solutions and measure the impact – for sure. - Not on my watch
The narrative about men needs to change. Men are not just bad. There are many, many very good men. As a social activist, I’m dedicated to solving problems before they become crises. Men should not have to suffer in silence. We need to speak up, facilitate dialogue, and implement solutions in collaboration. I bring 25 years of experience and multi-award-winning solutions, strategies, and support, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks under my watch. Together, we’ll build pathways to success, fulfilment, and long-term growth.
- Men are not broken women
Why should you be here?
As a man, you’re feeling the strain. The pressures from every direction — your relationships, work, finances — are weighing you down. You’re expected to keep it all together, to be strong, to show no weakness, but inside, you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, and self-doubt. Accusations of toxic masculinity make it even harder to open up – the patriarchy at work, the evil men in society – the negative narratives are all around you. You don’t want to be part of the problem, but you don’t know how to find solutions. You need a space where you can explore these feelings without judgment, where you can understand yourself better, and where you can find a path to healthier relationships, work-life balance, and a stronger sense of self.
You need guidance and direction from someone who truly gets what you’re going through, who can offer real support without preconceived ideas or criticism.
How to Get Involved
The Mozambique MANifesto Challenge
The joy of the open ocean is calling YOU!
Step out of the city into the wilderness!
The individual man
We do individual and group coaching and counselling with men. We know that men would rather seek help in their workplace, to resolve work pressures and relational issues at work, than in their personal lifes.
Men in their workplace
Comprehensive statistics comparing the prevalence of women’s empowerment programs to those specifically designed for men within businesses are limited. A shift we need to make: It is not women or men; it is both!
Men in society
The aim is to change the societal narrative about men.
